Data for Social Change

The Israeli Institute for Gender and LGBTQ Studies is an applied social research unit founded in 2021 to fill in gaps in up-to-date and valid knowledge on issues directly affecting the lives of LGBTQ individuals and communities in Israel

Attitudes and perceptions of the Jewish public in Israel regarding LGBT rights and the gay community: 2023-2024

The study follows general trends and deep patterns that characterize the public's attitude to various issues concerning the lives of LGBT people in Israel. We will also examine a wider set of public attitudes and perceptions on tangential topics, such as identification or non-identification with democratic, pluralistic values, religious values and tradition, education, and more, and voting patterns in elections.

LGBT during war: a special survey for community organizations and local authorities

In response to an urgent need in the last week of November 2023 we conducted a special nationwide survey. 1007 residents, aged 16+, who identify as LGBT participated in the survey, who shared with us their experiences and struggles in the first weeks after the outbreak of the war.

Do LGBT people feel comfortable participating in sports? If LGBT athletes are treated the same as heterosexual and cisgender athletes? Does LGBTphobia exist in sports in general? And in distinct sports in particular? If so, what are its manifestations? And how does it affect the realization of sporting potential and sporting achievements? Different sports worlds, both in professional and amateur settings, during different stages of life.
